Our Clients and Projects

Client:  Assembly of First Nations

Project:  Managing Sustainable Change

Stratos supported National Chief Shawn Atleo in his vision to re-invigorate and strengthen the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) to ensure it remains sustainable over the long-term while continuing to serve First Nations' citizens throughout Canada. Our team collaborated with the AFN leadership to undertake a management review to improve organizational sustainability. Our team collected data on the AFN's organizational culture and processes and applied a change management methodology to analyze the results. With AFN, we identified and implemented a set of priority recommendations which strengthened its management systems.

Client: Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business

Project: Enhancing the Progressive Aboriginal Relations Program

The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) engaged Stratos to enhance its Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program designed to advance corporate Aboriginal Relations and provide certification at the gold, silver and bronze levels. The PAR program explores Aboriginal Relations performance in four areas - employment, business development, community investment, and community engagement. Stratos supported CCAB with major program changes in 2011 to align the PAR program with leading practices in corporate responsibility. As a result, CCAB expects an increase in participation in PAR and an improved standard of  Aboriginal Relations in Canada.

Client: Mining Association of Canada

Project:  National and Community Engagement

On behalf of the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), Stratos led regional and community consultations on developing an Aboriginal engagement policy for the mining industry and developed a national advisory panel with a multi-interest design team. Our firm continues to facilitate MAC's Community of Interest Panel meetings
with First Nations, Métis and Inuit representation, first initiated in 2004. As a result of this work, Aboriginal communities have expressed appreciation for outreach efforts by the industry and there is strengthened confidence and reputation among key
stakeholder groups.
