Stratos Developing Implementation Guidance for the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights

July 11, 2010

Stratos was selected from a shortlist of internationally renowned consultancies to develop an Implementation Guidance Tool (IGT) for the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.  The Voluntary Principles is an initiative comprised of some of the world’s largest oil and gas and mining companies, governments, and NGOs designed to promote and protect human rights in the context of securing company people and assets across the world.  The IGT will provide companies with guidance on how to implement the Voluntary Principles, particularly in challenging operating environments.  We will be working with the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPEICA) and the participants of the Voluntary Principles process.  The Voluntary Principles form part of the IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, both of which are now crucial aspects of project financing decisions.
